Meet Joanne Gailius
Joanne graduated from UBC in 1983 with a dual degree in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy with a plan to work with children in the developing world. After working in Kamloops, Papua New Guinea and Comox, Joanne and her family arrived in the Creston Valley in 1999. Postgraduate training began with neurology and paediatrics, followed by community based rehabilitation. The next decade was devoted to manual therapy. In 2008, Joanne began focusing on pelvic (for men and women) and women's health physiotherapy education and certification. Pelvic yoga therapy and yoga teacher training blended with a lifelong love of movement studies. Joanne assesses, treats, educates and advises women and men with pelvic and/or cancer concerns in individualized appointments at Full Circle Physiotherapy in Creston.

Before your First Appointment

After you book your first appointment, you'll be sent a welcome email with a few forms to fill out to help make your first visit easier for both you and the clinic. If you're coming specifically for pelvic issues or cancer, please let us know so an additional form is sent to you. Your first appointment will be 60 - 90 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on your needs. If it's been two years since your last appointment or a new concern, you may need a full hour assessment again.
Confidentiality
Your information is private and confidential. Only those with whom you've give a release of information to our clinic will have access. You many change and/or update your preferences at any time.
Preparing for your first visit
On your first visit, please know that you are here to tell your story, to share your history and present concerns. It may help to write down your thoughts and questions as well as bring any test results and medication lists that you may have. Wear comfortable clothes. If you're seeking pelvic physiotherapy, you may choose to have an internal examination in addition to an external examination. Please bring a trusted person with you to your first appointment if that would make you more comfortable. It's up to you at any time.
Welcome
We try to be timely with your appointment and ask that you do as well. There is no receptionist, so please come in, make yourself comfortable and we'll be with you as soon as possible. There is a bathroom beside the waiting room and books and information for you to read.
Payment Options and Cancellation Policy
Payment is expected on the day of service and is in the form of cash, cheque or etransfer. No cards are accepted at present. We do not direct bill insurance companies but will give you the appropriate receipt (in paper or by email) in order for you to seek reimbursement. These choices are done in an effort to keep the cost of your appointments at a minimum and make this service available to as many women as possible without cost becoming an impediment.
If you need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible with at least 48 hours' notice. If you miss one appointment, there is no charge. Missing a second appointment requires full payment. This booking system will send you an email reminder 1 - 2 days prior to your appointment and a text 2 hours before your appointment.
